The hypnotic percussivity of the carioca rhythms takes place through the use of primordial tools: hands. Precisely to honor the hands of black slaves, the first Brazilian percussionists, able to batucar drums and make people dance in a mix of music and religion, Batucada seems to want to keep the source, precious source of light, between two hands, concealing it or revealing it if necessary.
