The name, derived from the Latin clivus (slope, downward path), evokes the gesture of carving, where material is gradually removed until the desired shape is achieved.

The collection is the result of a design process that combined the skill of a model maker hand-sculpting prototypes with the vision of designer Patricia Urquiola, leading to refined pieces where every detail was studied with great care.
